Band family, it is important to read the Director’s Newsletter and Weekly Downbeat!  These two sources are the best place to start when you have questions and will save you and others time in trying to find answers.  We pull together all the information into one place so you don’t have to search for answers.

Tuesday - DLD day (do your online band assignment and catch up on school work!)

Reminder: Drop-off AND pick-up for games AND practice is in the upper parking lot.

🪊Lanier Longhorns vs the Alpharetta Raiders on Friday, November 6th!  Game Day theme is Jungle Out!  See the schedule below!  Tickets can be purchased on GoFan.

*Eat before you report to school. If staying after school, please wait in the band HALLWAY or outside the band hallway entrance. You will not have access to the band room until 4:00pm.  If there is a pre-order, we will share the link as soon as we receive it!

4:00pm Report Time for Equipment Crew + Percussion + Trailer instruments

Students put out instruments to load trailers. Equipment Crew load the props/equipment.

4:30pm Report Time for All

5:10pm In Commons with your section (circle up)

5:30pm Uniform Inspection

5:40pm Final Announcements + Dismissal to Busses

6:30pm  Approx. Arrival at Alpharetta HS

7:30pm  Kickoff

When game ends: Return Lanier HS - Pack up, put uniform away, clean, then dismiss.

• TUESDAY Jan 12 - Lanier vs. Alpharetta 6:00 + 7:30  
• TUESDAY Jan 26 - Lanier vs. Roswell 6:00 +7:30  
• TUESDAY Feb 2 - Lanier vs. Johns Creek 6:00 + 7:30

🎶In Case You Missed It. . . The Longhorn Jazz Band is back after a year hiatus.  If you are interested in being a part of the 2026-27 Longhorn Jazz Band, please fill out the interest form at this link:

The Longhorn Jazz Band will rehearse 3 times a month after school on either Monday or Wednesday.  Timeframe for rehearsals are TBA.  Rehearsal Dates:

Performance Dates: 

• North Gwinnett Jazz Festival on April 24th 
• Percussion and Jazz Concert at LHS on May 3rd 

🥁LHS Indoor Percussion is here! The clinic dates are next week. Monday, November 9th and Tuesday, November 10th 2:30-5:00. Auditions will be on Wednesday, November 18th and Thursday, November 19th.

❗Make sure you have these dates on your calendar for the Required Fall Concert Dress Rehearsals for ALL Students! These are required graded rehearsals. Please talk to a director if you have a conflict in advance. 

November 5 - Wind Ensemble during Longhorn Time 9:00-10:30 

November 12 - Wind Ensemble during Longhorn Time 9:00-10:30 

November 16 - Concert Band 2:30, Symphonic Band 3:30, Symphonic Winds 4:30-5:30

🗓️The Band Fall Concert Expect the Unexpected is on Nov. 17th

6:30pm Beginning Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band, Symphonic Band 

7:15pm Intermission 

7:30pm Advanced Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble

🎁Charleston Wrap is Still Open!  Just a reminder that our Charleston Wrap fundraiser is still active through December 14th!

This is a great opportunity for students and families to continue sharing their Charleston Wrap link and earning money toward any outstanding or past-due band dues.

With the holiday season coming up, it’s a perfect time to share with family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who may already be shopping for gifts. Every sale helps!

Let’s take advantage of these remaining weeks and finish strong! 💙🎶

💫Mark your calendars for December 5th and join us for Parent’s Night Out - Special Edition - Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!

Be sure to bring your holiday spirit, your loudest sweater, and get ready for a night filled with laughter and friendship.

• When: December 5th
• Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM 

Drop in or stay awhile.  No cover charge.  Food and beverage at the expense of each individual.
