🗓️ Save The Date for the first annual, Longhorn SKILLS & DRILLS on August 17. When the Longhorn Marching Band, Varsity Cheer, Varsity Football AND Herd Leaders get together, great things are going to happen! And this is an event that traditions are born from!
Here’s the lowdown. After school on August 17th each discipline (band, football, cheer) would hold their normal practice at their regular time. Then each will move to the field to get ready for Skills & Drills, where there will be an event like no other, where each section will teach the others their skills & drills that bring the energy every Friday Night. Parents are invited to attend to watch from the stands and then join together at the main concession area for a cookout lead by the Band, Football, Cheer booster organizations to celebrate the kickoff of an amazing season!
🤝Show Support For Those Who Support The Band! All of these local businesses supported our kids during band camp. It was because of their generosity that our kids were fed and fueled during all their hours of dedication and hard work over the last two weeks. Say thanks by visiting their business and while you're there, let them know you’re a Longhorn!

🤝 We really do have the BEST Parent Volunteers! We had an amazing two weeks of band camp! Thank you to everyone who came out and spent time volunteering. From sorting and sizing uniforms, assisting with shoe fittings, cleaning the closet, serving meals and overseeing that our kids didn’t overheat while practicing drill and music, you were all amazing!
If you weren’t able to make it during band camp, no worries. Friday Night Lights is coming soon! Check Booster Hub for more opportunities throughout the season.
🎶 Everyone’s Welcome, So Join Us for our next Longhorn Parent’s Night Out. We had an amazing evening of laughs and good conversations hanging out with our awesome parents last month. So be sure to join us for our next Parent’s Night Out!
📅 Saturday, August 15

Grab your partner, invite another band parent, or come solo—you'll leave with new friends and familiar faces before football games, competitions, and busy weekends begin. We hope to see you there!
🎤Andy Grammer is coming to The Bowl. Volunteer slots are live now.
How It Works:
The Lanier Marching Band agrees to set up and break down the chairs for the upcoming concerts at The Bowl. By volunteering, adults receive VIP tickets to the show, this includes 2 drink tickets, admission to the preshow tailgate and prime seating in the Lanier Longhorn suite. There must be 1 person volunteering with both set up and breakdown of chairs for each ticket. These are highly sought after tickets, we ask that you reserve 2 slots and after the first 48 hours, if there are remaining slots available, they will be on a first come first serve basis (chair set up and breakdown still required for tickets).
Details for the Andy Grammer are:
- Chair Set Up: Saturday, August 8th @ 8:00 AM
- Concert: Sunday, August 9th Doors Open @ 6:00 PM - Music Starts @ 7:00 PM
- Chair Break Down: Monday, August 10th @ 5:00 PM
Since the City of Sugar Hill provides a sponsorship for the band to help pay for transportation, music, equipment repair, etc, as part of the partnership, each section of the band is assigned to assist with the set up AND breakdown of the chairs. The Woodwinds have been assigned to Andy Grammer. Students receive community service hours for assisting.
⚾Due to several unforeseen factors the Back to School Bash with The Gwinnett Stripers has been canceled. We will work with the Gwinnett Stripers on rescheduling the event for a later date, so be sure to watch the newsletter and socials for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
📸 Core Memories Incoming!
If you haven’t checked out the Lanier Band’s Google photo album your missing out! There are some awesome photos of kiddos all throughout band camp uploaded. These are definitely core memories. Be sure to check the album out and if you have any photos add them to the album.
Everyone is invited to take and share photos of the kids throughout the 2026-2027 school year. Be sure to save the link and share your favorite photos so everyone can enjoy seeing the students and all their achievements all year long. The album is open to all winds, percussion, guard, staff, parents/guardians and friends of the band.
