🤘 Week 1 OF BAND CAMP was awesome! Our students worked hard, learned music and marching fundamentals, and have already shown incredible growth, dedication, and teamwork. We're proud of the positive attitudes and effort everyone has brought each day.
As we head into Week 2, we'll continue building on this strong foundation by refining our music, cleaning drill, and developing the confidence and precision that make the Longhorn Marching Band the best band! Keep bringing your energy, focus, and commitment—we're excited to see all that this group will accomplish together. Let's make Week 2 even better!
👀IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, students need to come prepared everyday to put in the work and have fun, too! Attached is the band camp daily activity schedule for week 2. Here are some important reminders:
- We kicked off our Popcorn Fundraiser! Every student should be set up with their on link and page to sell. Fundraising helps the band pay for things like instruction, transportation, equipment repair, etc. and a portion of funds raised helps pay dues. If you have not signed up, you can sign up here to start selling.

- Students please continue to stay healthy by doing the following everyday:
- Eat a healthy, complex carb - protein filled breakfast
- Avoid sugary drinks and snacks that cause your system to crash early
- Bring a healthy lunch & snack
- Water bottle (Filled with ice water)
- Avoid wearing long pants and dark colors, it gets hot on the drill lot
- Athletic shoes (No sandals, crocs, or boots)
- Hat and sunglasses
- Apply sunscreen before leaving home and bring extra to reapply
🚨It is IMPORTANT to remember that drop-off AND pick-up is in the upper parking lot. Parents, please do not move the barricades that are in place. They have been placed there to direct traffic where you need to go. This rule is not to inconvenience you. It is there to keep our students and staff safe as the band entrance is a high traffic area.

🎤Don’t Wait to grab the last volunteer slot for the Better Than Ezra concert at The Bowl. This is a very popular event and you don’t want to miss it.
How It Works:
The Lanier Marching Band agrees to set up and break down the chairs for the upcoming concerts at The Bowl. By volunteering, adults receive VIP tickets to the show, this includes 2 drink tickets, admission to the preshow tailgate and prime seating in the Lanier Longhorn suite. There must be 1 person volunteering with both set up and breakdown of chairs for each ticket. These are highly sought after tickets, we ask that you reserve 2 slots and after the first 48 hours, if there are remaining slots available, they will be on a first come first serve basis..
Details for the Better Than Ezra with special guests Vertical Horizon and Tonic:
- Chair Set Up: Saturday, July 25th @ 8:00 AM
- Concert; Saturday, July 25th Doors Open @ 6:00 PM - Music Starts @ 7:00 PM
- Chair Break Down: Sunday, July 26th @ 9:00 AM
Due to Band Camp and the Parent Preview, chair set up for the show will be the morning of the event. Since the City of Sugar Hill provides a sponsorship for the band to help pay for transportation, music, equipment repair, etc, as part of the partnership, each section of the band is assigned to assist with the set up AND breakdown of the chairs. The Woodwinds have been assigned the Better Than Ezra show. Students receive community service hours for assisting.rom July 16th - 23rd the band will be selling Double Good’s award winning popcorn and earning fundraising dollars with every sale.
