📣 Gearing Up For A Great Start!

In just 7 days, we'll be back together making music, learning drill, and making the best memories of the summer. So get ready to level up and kick off a season that's going to be (IM)POSSIBLE to forget. If you haven't already, now's the time to break in those shoes, practice your music, and don't forget the sunscreen and water—we're about to put in the work!

👀IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, last week’s email was band camp specific. Here are some important reminders:

• CRITICAL: Complete Rank One by uploading physicals before band camp
• Marchers should be prepping now for Day 1
• Volunteers Needed
• Check our Amazon Wish List
• Day 1 of Band Camp a parent or guardian must accompany their Marcher inside for check-in
• Drop-off and Pick-up is in the upper parking lot

🚨 CRITICAL: GCPS Requires Completed Physicals!

If you have not completed your physicals and uploaded them into Rank One for the 2026-2027 year, don’t wait. Students will not be allowed on the field for Day One of camp without completed medical clearance. No exceptions.

Coach Bernstein will be onsite at Lanier High School the evening of July 9th to assist any parent and Marcher with uploading and completing their RankOne forms. Have your completed physical form and documentation with you.

🛒 Emergency Supply Call: Our Amazon Wishlist

Thank you to everyone who has donated an item from our Amazon Wishlist but we still have many items that are needed.  

It takes a massive amount of supplies to keep our 130 students safe, healthy, and hydrated under the summer sun. Because shipping takes time, please check out our Amazon Wishlist today so items arrive at the school before camp starts. We kindly request each family donate a minimum of one item off our wishlist to help support our kids.

Urgent Needs: Containers of sports drink mix, cases of bottled water, cooling towels, healthy pre-packaged snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers).

🤝 We Need Parent Power!

Our program absolutely cannot run without parent power—especially during hot summer rehearsals. We need volunteers on-site to help keep our students safe, fed, and hydrated. If you haven't signed up for a volunteer shift, please consider doing so. It’s a great way to help your student and see the show develop from its beginning stages to our final performance.

Band Camp Volunteers assist with:

• Hydration & Ice: Prep water stations, refill jugs, and manage cooling towels during outdoor field blocks.
• Camp Lunch & Snack: Help organize, serve, and clean up daily meals.
• First-Aid: On-site monitoring students for heat or minor injuries.

📸Senior Banner Photos *Date Change*

We’ve moved the date for Senior banner photos. Photos will now take place on Friday morning, 7/24 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Seniors, look for a Signup Genius email to pick a time for your senior banner portrait. 

📌Booster Corner 

We need your help to be successful. We have 2 critical board positions open. When you join the Band Booster Association, you're investing in students, strengthening your band community, and helping create opportunities that inspire excellence both on and off the field. Every contribution helps our band continue to grow and succeed. If interested, email lanierbandhelp@gmail.com.   

• Cluster Liaison
• The Role: Serve as the vital bridge between our high school program and our cluster's middle school band programs.
• Responsibilities: Coordinate outreach, assist with shared cluster events, and help middle school families smoothly transition into the high school band family. Lead the Band Managers with their responsibilities. This is a fantastic role for someone who loves community building and long-term program growth!
• Game Day Operations
• The Role: The logistical mastermind behind our Friday night lights experience.
• Responsibilities: Oversee the moving parts that make game days happen—from coordinating parent volunteers for equipment loading/unloading to ensuring the band has what it needs logistically from arrival to departure. If you are organized, love being in the middle of the action, and enjoy operational teamwork, this is for you.

🥁 Percussion: Meet The Director

Percussion parents: Join us for a meet and greet with Director of Percussion, Celeena Corbin. Ask your questions and get to know some of the other percussion parents. 5:30-8:00-ish this Thursday 7/9. This is a drop in, so stop by for a few minutes or stay until the end. We’ll meet in Downtown Sugar Hill, outside of Indio Brewing.

🍿Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser (July 16th - 23rd)

Help fund travel and equipment for an exceptional season. We will hold our Double Good popcorn fundraiser from July 16 – July 23. We’re selling Double Good’s award-winning popcorn and earning 50% of every sale.

🌮Spirit Night at Tacos and Tequilas, Buford July 7th

Come out and meet other band families, while enjoying some tacos at our first Spirit Night of the season. Join us for Taco Tuesday, July 7th from 5:00 - 9:00 PM! Enjoy a fabulous meal, mix and mingle with other band families and enjoy a night out. All while benefiting the band.

The band will receive 30% of all proceeds.

Before the marching band season kicks into full swing, take a little time to relax, connect, and get to know the amazing parents who'll be cheering alongside you all season long!

Whether you're a first-time band parent or a seasoned veteran, everyone is welcome. Come enjoy a casual evening of conversation, laughter, and community—no dress code, no pressure, just a fun night out with fellow band families.

Everyone is invited to take and share photos of the kids throughout the 2026-2027 school year. Be sure to save the link and share your favorite photos so everyone can enjoy seeing the students and all their achievements all year long. The album is open to all winds, percussion, guard, staff, parents/guardians and friends of the band.
