Reminder; drop off and pick up is always in the upper parking lot. There are many different activities that occur throughout the year, and the school entrance should remain clear to keep the students safe.

Volunteers Needed for LGPE!

We still need Chaperones for the Concert Band LGPE Performance at Grayson High School on March 18th. We need at least 2 more Chaperones to sign up. Please consider signing up and attending this wonderful event! Details are on BoosterHub.

Below is the schedule for the LHS Band’s three Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) performances.

WIND ENSEMBLE + SYMPHONIC BAND

March 11th @ Gas South Theater

Location: Gas South Theater 6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy Duluth, GA 30097 

All spectator parking is FREE in the lot next to the Hudgins art center. Spectators will enter through the front doors of the Gas South Theater. Please see the below Spectator Map for more details. 

Reminder of Performance Schedule:

11:00 AM: Report to Band Room in uniform

11:45 AM: Depart for Gas South Arena 

12:15 PM: Arrive at Gas South and unload  

1:00 PM: Symphonic Band Warmup 

1:40 PM: Symphonic Band Performance

2:20 PM: Symphonic Band Sightreading

3:10 PM: Wind Ensemble Warmup 

3:55 PM: Wind Ensemble Performance 

4:40 PM: Wind Ensemble Sightreading 

5:15 PM: Load up and Depart for Lanier 

*Important Note: All student rides must be on campus by 6:00pm for pickup.

Nashville Trip is 10 Days Away!

We hope everyone is excited for our upcoming band trip to Nashville March 13th thru the 15th. If you are attending the trip, please be sure to check your emails for a Nashville trip specific email containing all the details!

• Select from four delivery dates, placed between 7pm-9:30pm

• Spring Training and 2026 Registration:
• April 18th - Spring Training 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Required for all returning 2026 Lanier Marching Band students
• April 18th - Parent Meeting & Cookout 1:00 - 2:00 PM
• April 20th - 2026 Marching Band Registration Opens - $50.00 deposit due to secure your spot for next year’s show.
• May 1st - 2026 Marching Band Registration Ends
• May 11th - Full Marching Band Student Meeting; 5:00 - 7:00 PM @ Lanier High School

• April 13th - Percussion Clinic 4:30 - 5:45 PM
• April 20th - Percussion Clinic 4:30 - 5:45 PM

• Guard Audition Dates:
• April 21st - Students 9th - 11th Grade who are interested in Color Guard 2:30 - 4:30 PM
• April 23rd & 24th - Interested Middle Students only, 4:00 - 6:00 PM @ Lanier Middle School
• April 25th - ALL students 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM; followed by Parent Meeting @ 12:00 PM @ Lanier High School

2026 Band Camp Dates and Times!

2026 Longhorn Marching Band Camp Dates have been announced.  Please mark these dates on your calendar. These are required dates for the 2026 Longhorn Marching Band (winds, guard, percussion). 

Week 1 July 13-17  

Week 2 July 20-24 

Times for each camp day: 

• July 13-15 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• July 16-17 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
• July 20-21 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
• July 22 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• July 23 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
• July 24 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM,  Performance at 6:00 PM
