Reminder; drop off and pick up is always in the upper parking lot.  There are many different activities that occur throughout the year, and the school entrance should remain clear to keep the students safe.

Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion Friends and Family Show!

Join us Friday, February 20th at 7:00 PM for a Friends and Family Show to help celebrate and kick off the Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion season!  The show will be held at the Lanier Middle School.  Indoor percussion will start off the evening with their 2026 show  “Relativity” followed by a performance of  Winter Guard’s 2026 show “Bridge Over Troubled Water”!

Indoor Percussion GIPA Clinic and Competition 21st!

Come cheer on Lanier’s Indoor Percussion Saturday, February 21st for their first GIPA (Georgia Indoor Percussion Association) Clinic and Competition at South Forsyth High School.  

Saturday’s competition schedule will be:

7:45 AM: Call Time at Lanier High School

7:55 AM: Head to South Forsyth High School (Carpool about 30 minute drive)

8:50 AM: Check-In and Unload

9:10 - 9:40 AM: Warm-Up by Trailers

9:50 AM: Staging in Aux Gym 

10:00 - 10:25 AM: Clinic

10:30 AM: Push to trailers

11:00 AM: Lunch and debrief

12:00 AM: Sectionals at the trailers

1:54 PM: Check in for Finals

2:54 PM: Warm-Up Area A

3:12 PM: Transition to staging 

3:21 PM: Staging Area

3:30 PM: Finals Performance

3:40 PM: Push to trailers and load

4:00 PM: Watch Performances and Eat Dinner

7:00 PM: Retreat 

8:00 PM: Head back to Lanier High School

8:45 PM: Unload Trailers

9:00 PM: Dismissal

Lunch will be provided by percussion parents and snacks will be available throughout the day. Please bring money for dinner at the concession stands. 

The uniform will be black pants, black sneakers, and the shirt is TBD at the moment.

LGPE Details!

Below is the schedule for the LHS Band’s three Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) performances. 

• March 11th Wind Ensemble warmup at 3:10 PM, stage 3:55 PM, SR 4:40 PM @ Gas South Arena
• March 11th Symphonic band, warmup 1:00 PM, stage 1:40 PM, SR 2:20 PM @ Gas South Arena 
• March 18th Concert Band warmup at 8:30 PM, Perform at 9:00 PM, Sightread at 9:30 PM @ Grayson High School

Chocolate Fundraiser Ongoing!

World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser through Monday, March 9th. Please log in to your BoosterHub account to check for any outstanding balances. Any student with a remaining balance is required to sell a minimum of one box of chocolate. There is no maximum limit—students are welcome to sell as many boxes as they choose. Please note that once a box is checked out, it cannot be returned. A percentage of proceeds from chocolate sales will be applied directly toward student fees. Students receive 70% of the profit sold ($22.40 per box). The more you sell, the less you owe—so get out there and start selling!

• April 18th - Spring Training 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Required for all returning 2026 Lanier Marching Band students
• April 18th - Parent Meeting & Cookout 1:00 - 2:00 PM
• April 20th - 2026 Marching Band Registration Opens - $50.00 deposit due to secure your spot for next year’s show.
• May 1st - 2026 Marching Band Registration Ends
• May 11th - Full Marching Band Student Meeting; 5:00 - 7:00 PM @ Lanier High School

• Percussion Audition Dates:
• April 13th - Percussion Clinic 4:30 - 5:45 PM
• April 20th - Percussion Clinic 4:30 - 5:45 PM

• Guard Audition Dates:

• April 25th - ALL students 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM; followed by Parent Meeting @ 12:00 PM @ Lanier High School

2026 Band Camp Dates and Times!

2026 Longhorn Marching Band Camp Dates have been announced.  Please mark these dates on your calendar. These are required dates for the 2026 Longhorn Marching Band (winds, guard, percussion). 

Week 1 July 13-17  

Week 2 July 20-24 

Times for each camp day: 

• July 13-15 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• July 16-17 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
• July 20-21 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
• July 22 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• July 23 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
• July 24 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM,  Performance at 6:00 PM
